Daniel Marbury

Hello Central Lake,

My name is Daniel Marbury, and I will be your local FoodCorps Service Member once again! Last year I worked with Mr. Vanderhart to teach lessons incorporating local food concepts with the 4th grade curriculum in a variety of subjects. This year I am excited to partner with teachers and staff again to share lessons on local foods, nutritious eating, and gardening with your students.

Hosted locally by the Michigan Land Use Institute Food & Farming Team, and funded in part through Americorps, FoodCorps is a national service program made up of service members in communities across the country dedicated to connecting kids to real food in the classroom and cafeteria and helping them to grow up healthy.

In addition to working in the classroom, I will also be working with your Food Program Director Debbie Wolgamott to offer creative opportunities for your children to try new fresh foods grown here in Northwest Michigan and to find opportunities to incorporate new favorites on the lunch menu.

Most importantly, I hope to continue to connect with you as parents and family members in order to work together for delicious local eating and gardening experiences throughout the year. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer for healthy food and local farming activities which may include Local Food Fundraisers, Farm Fieldtrips, Taste Tests, or School Gardening or have ideas for FoodCorps programming, please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail at  This email address is being protected from spambots. Thanks and I'll see you at school!
